Raising Awareness and Campaigning

An important part of the work undertaken by our partner charities is to raise awareness of the issues faced by the children, young people and families that they support. This may involve for example lobbying MPs on government services and policies or persuading broadcasters to make TV accessible for deaf children.

Ataxia is a degenerative brain disease which is often misdiagnosed in the early stages.  FInd out how Ataxia UK are working to improve awareness of Ataxia and help Connor and his family.

Each year in November, Anti-Bullying Week, a campaign lead by the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA), part of the National Children’s Bureau (NCB), takes place.  Each year there is a different theme, and in 2011 this was 'Stop and Think - Words can Hurt'.

NCB's Life Routes programme is raising awareness of issues facing young people who may not have learnt practical life skills at home.  Find out how they turned Sarah's life around.
