Stolen Futures update

The National Deaf Children Society (NDCS) has been campaigning for the past three years to protect services for deaf children. In May 2012 NDCS launched the Stolen Futures campaign and petition to call on the Government to intervene where cuts to deaf children’s services are being made across England. The charity is deeply concerned about the effect these cuts could have on deaf children, as you will have read in our letter to you earlier in the year.  Thank you if you added your signature to the petition.

The NDCS petition closed in May 2013 with over 50,000 signatures making it the 29th biggest petition ever on the Government site (out of a total of 21,268). A Parliamentary event was organised in the same month in order to get MP support for the campaign.

Sir Malcolm Bruce MP is now sponsoring the call for a debate and NDCS is hoping to have one scheduled for October 2013.  See the NDCS website for more information,
