Title: Volunteer fundraising assistant

About Childlife: Childlife is a charity raising funds for a consortium of four charities helping children in the UK:- Acorn’s Children’s Hospices, Ataxia UK, The National Children’s Bureau, and The National Deaf Children’s Society.

Time commitment: Flexible and negotiable – however, ideally a minimum of 6 hours per week, on two days from either Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.

N.B. This role is unpaid. Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with Childlife’s volunteer policy.

Main Purpose of Role

    • To support Childlife’s fundraising activities, especially in relation to events and challenge fundraising, but not excluding activities related to other forms of fundraising
    • To undertake other appropriate tasks as agreed in conjunction with Childlife’s Marketing Officer or Chief Executive

      Main Tasks


      • To be the main point of contact for existing and potential event participants, ensuring they are well supported, and enjoy their experience of raising money for Childlife, feel appreciated and have a sense of the difference they have made
      • To support event participants with their fundraising and suggest ways that they can meet their sponsorship target
      • To research potential events that Childlife should buy places in
      • To promote places in events that Childlife has purchased
      • To manage event participants from initial contact through to registration and final thank you for money raised 
      • To help manage the Google adwords account using the Childlife Google grant to promote event places


      • To undertake other tasks in support of other fundraising activities as required, e.g. supporting research into new forms of fundraising, contacting donors regarding their ability to sign-up for Gift Aid, welcoming and thanking donors etc
