Our Trustees

The trustees meet four times a year to monitor the progress and strategic direction of the charity. The trustees are:

Sue Millman, Chair of Trustees 

Sue Millman, TrusteeSue has been a trustee of Childlife since June 2007. Previous to joining Ataxia UK in May 2007 as Chief Executive, Sue was Director of Support at Advance Housing and Support where she managed the delivery of support services to people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems. From 1996 to 2004, she was Chief Executive of Alcohol Recovery Project, a housing association providing services to people with substance misuse problems. Sue is trustee of the Neurological Alliance and Secretary General of euro-ATAXIA, the European federation of ataxia patients organisations.

Ben McNaught, Honorary Treasurer

Ben joined National Deaf Children’s Society in 2010 as their Head of Supporter Marketing. Leading the individual giving, database and legacy fundraising operations, he is responsible for ensuring that NDCS’s services have long term, sustainable funding to support deaf children, young people and their families. Previously, he worked in a number of positions within the Individual Giving teams at Shelter and at Arthritis Care. He has also served as a member of the Executive Board of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA).

Ben became a Trustee of Childlife in December 2013, and acts as Honorary Treasurer for the charity.

Dawn Pawlett, Trustee

Dawn Pawlett, TrusteeA trustee of Childlife since March 2011. Dawn has worked within the community fundraising department at Acorns since 1994, and in December 2010, Dawn took on the role of Head of Regional Fundraising. Acorns Children’s Hospice provides care and support services for life limited and life threatened children in the West Midlands region. .  

Anna Feuchtwang, Trustee

Anna joined NCB as Chief Executive in September 2014, bringing extensive experience of working to improve the lives of children and young people both in the UK and abroad. Anna was the chief executive of the international development charity EveryChild from 2004 and, until 2011, was also chair of BOND – a network of over 300 international voluntary organisations. Anna spent ten years with Oxfam where she was head of communications before becoming director of communications and public affairs at the Association for London Government, where she worked with London’s 33 authorities on child protection issues following the Victoria Climbie case and the introduction of the Every Child Matters legislation.

Our Staff

Based in an office in Farnborough, there are four part-time members of staff:

Sarah Critchley, Chief Executive

Sarah became the Chief Executive of Childlife in October 2013. Previously Sarah worked at Oxfam, since 2007 as the Head of the Supporter Marketing Funding Team that helped to develop and implement cost-effective fundraising strategies to raise funds for Oxfam’s long-term development and advocacy programmes. In her previous roles with Oxfam Sarah worked in various roles including International Financial Adviser, and deployments to Nairobi and Darfur as a Finance Manager.

Before working in the charity sector, Sarah worked as an Audit Manager for the big four global accountancy firm Ernst & Young LLP – working for clients including Porsche GB, Macmillan Publishers and De Beers.

Gina Hope-Ross, Database and IT Officer

Responsible for the fundraising database and IT needs of the charity. Gina has worked in IT for over 20 years both in the charity and private sector. Gina enjoys walking, tennis and bringing up her children.

Sharon Carter, Marketing Officer

Responsible for all printed materials that we use to recruit and retain donors as well as emails and keeping the website up to date. Sharon worked in various marketing communications roles before joining Childlife in 2002 and has been able to transfer skills gained there to benefit Childlife.

Andrea Rimington, Finance & Administration Officer

Responsible for keeping the fundraising database up to date with new donors, amends to the details of existing donors as well as looking after all the donation processing and payment of invoices. Andrea joined Childlife after having her two children and wanted to use the skills she had developed in the commercial world in a rewarding role.
